Hydraulic stations

PAUL mobile hydraulic power units are used to operate hydraulic equipment such as tension jacks, stress-relief cylinders, cutting tools, and other equipment used in the production of prestressed concrete elements.

Tensioning jack

Tensioning jacks for steel rebar, wire, and stranded steel strands are used in precast concrete plants and on construction sites. These jacks differ in their tensioning force, working stroke, and the number of rebar rods that can be tensioned simultaneously.

Anchor grips

PAUL manufactures a wide range of anchor clamps for anchoring or splicing various types of rebar, wire, or steel stranded cables. Structurally, PAUL anchor clamps consist of housings and clamping wedges. There are three types, distinguished by the body design:
— Open-Type “A” Anchor Clamp
— Closed-Type “F” Anchor Clamp
— “K” Type Coupling

Prestressed Concrete Technology

Prestressed concrete technology is a building material widely used worldwide (and in recent decades, in Ukraine and other CIS countries). Its production utilizes a special reinforcement technology that takes advantage of concrete's inability to withstand high tensile stresses. This increases the strength and durability of the finished product.

Structures manufactured using this method exhibit significantly less deflection and are also much less susceptible to cracking (two to three times more than prestressed concrete structures without prestressing). They also boast uniform strength, making them suitable for spanning large spans. Prestressed concrete reduces the consumption of reinforcing material by 50%.

What is prestressed concrete technology?

A distinctive feature of the prestressed concrete manufacturing process is the pre-installation of tensile reinforcement. Wires or cables are tensioned using a special device, and then concrete is poured onto them. After the concrete has set, the reinforcement is released, and the tensile force is transferred to the concrete, causing it to compress and maintain this state.

Creating compressive stress allows the manufacturer of reinforced concrete products to completely or partially avoid tensile stress under loads during operation.

Depending on the equipment at the plant, the reinforcement can be tensioned in various ways:

  • mechanically (using a jack);
  • electrothermally (using an electric current that heats the reinforcement, causing it to stretch to the specified level);
  • electrothermomechanically (a combined method).
  • Advantages of Prestressed Concrete Technology

This prestressed concrete technology is widely used worldwide because it offers numerous advantages to the builder:

Prestressed structures are much less expensive than other building materials that can withstand similar loads and operating conditions.
Increased rigidity and resistance to cracking make them more resilient to heavy, repeated loads.
With proper design, structures and buildings made from this material are safer to operate and more reliable, especially in areas with high seismic activity.
This technology allows for a 40% reduction in overall building weight, which translates into a reduction in construction material consumption (up to 27%).
From an economic perspective, projects using prestressed concrete are highly cost-effective (sales profit is 35% higher than with traditional construction methods).

The architectural planning possibilities of buildings are expanded. This applies both to unlimited possibilities in interior space planning (the architect is virtually limited in the placement of interior partitions and walls) and to the construction of buildings in various architectural styles, as the designer can vary the building's horizontal contours.

Prestressed concrete technology is now widely used in the construction of buildings for various purposes: residential buildings, offices, industrial facilities, warehouses, and retail spaces.
